How To Get More Reviews

Here’s a question for you to consider: what's the first thing you do when you decide you want to purchase a new item, book a service or make an appointment for ANYTHING? I’m going to guess that you go into research mode and Google that ish so that you know the best place to trust with your money! During the time you’re researching, what’s one of the #1 things you pay attention to? That’s right,  REVIEWS! Having solid (or not so solid) reviews can be the difference between a client booking with you or continuing on their search. One thing that you have to remember is that having social proof is the life blood of your business! Especially in the age of technology when information and options are so easily accessible, building quality reviews will change your business!

Getting more reviews for your beauty biz may seem like a tough task, but it doesn’t have to be! To increase the amount of reviews your business gets, all you have to do is to simply ASK for them! You know what I always say, “closed mouths don’t get fed, babe!” When you do an after appointment follow up message with your clients, nicely ask them if they’d be willing to leave you a review about their experience. Most people have no problem doing this especially if they loved the service you provided! You can even go about doing this in a very natural way after they give you good feedback by asking them to copy and paste that feedback into a Google or Facebook review. This makes it so  simple & easy for your clients to help you out!

Although your clients may not know how impactful reviews can be on a small business, you know that it can make all the difference. Therefore, it’s beneficial to explain to your clients how much their positive reviews help to bring in new business for you so that you can continue to grow and offer the services they love! The way in which we go about doing this is having a separate page on our website that is not viewable to the public, but instead it’s accessed by being shared through a unique URL. Everytime we get positive feedback from a client, we have an automation set up that will automatically send this link out so that the client can easily navigate to where they can leave us a review. On this page we explain the impact that reviews have on a small business and why we appreciate them sharing their kind words and at the bottom there are buttons to our Google and Yelp pages. You can even add a button to your business Facebook page so that your client can easily access whichever platform they’d like to write a review on. 

Once you start focusing on getting social proof for your beauty biz, you’ll be amazed at how many clients you’ll have that come to you and say, “I booked with you because you had great reviews on Google.” People trust other people’s opinions and are much more likely to go through with booking a service or buying a product if other people recommend it, even if those people are strangers!
